We’re fixing our train services
My Government is working to deliver more frequent and more reliable services for passengers.
The former Liberal Government neglected rail maintenance leaving passengers to experience delays and unreliable services.
Since coming into Government, we’ve invested a record $2.1 billion dollars in rail maintenance and incident response, which is why we have had to regularly shut down the network on weekends.
The good news is from the 15th of November, my Government will implement a new timetable that will deliver more services and better reliability.
Passengers in Kogarah, Carlton, Allawah and Hurstville will benefit from more frequent services, with trains running as often as every 3 minutes at Hurstville station.
All train services will stop at Sydenham, giving passengers a direct connection to Sydney Metro.
In 2027, we will reinstate Kogarah Station as an express stop that was removed by the Liberals, to improve services for the increasing number of residents in the area.
We know there’s more to do, but this is an important step towards delivering a reliable train service our community deserves.
