My Government is taking action to get trucks off Stoney Creek and Forest Road by redirecting them onto the M5 East.

This is a practical solution to ease local congestion after the former Liberal Government sold off the M5 East and locked NSW taxpayers into contracts with private toll companies until 2060.

All trucks over 20 metres in length will be directed onto the M5 by 2027, which will cut truck numbers on our local roads by 60 per cent.

By the end of 2027, we’ll also redirect Class B vehicles – those over 12.5 metres in length or 2.8 metres in height off our local roads and onto the M5. 

We know there’s more to do, and this is another important step in our plan to ease congestion so you can spend less time on the road and more time with your family.
